Thomason Tractor is a John Deer Tractor dealership located in the central valley. Beside a variety of large farming equipment , an entire service department, they host one of the largest showrooms full of John Deer retail, and other farmer/ cowboy style products. It could honestly be considered the Firebaugh Mall. The Company recently had its annual Christmas party hosted at the Palms Restaurant in Fresno, Ca. One of the traditions of the parties is the company Christmas video made by Omar, a mechanic who works in the service department and for the last 3 years I’ve also contributed video segments to help put meat on the bones of the video. The videos usually begin with the CEO, Rodney Thomason doing an introduction as his Alter ego RT007, a pseudo version of James Bond. Complete with large cigars and having an employee or his wife making him a stiff cocktail, shaken, not stirred. The video is then followed up with a run and gun day in the life at Thomason Tractor. Everybody squirms and cringes as we film. Rarely does anyone want to participate in the video, but by the time the party comes around and everyone has a few drinks, the whole cast of unwilling participants usually walk away crying with laughter instead of tears of embarrassment. This annual tradition has become a great way to recap the year as it comes to an end and we welcome in the new year.
So being there is kind of a formula for these videos, and one of the staples is the music. Traditionally the soundtrack consist of popular pop country songs of the last decade, the Luke Bryans and little green tractors of the world. So naturally, I wanted to shake things up a little , but in short my efforts were road blocked immediately . My song of choice, My Chemical Romances rendition of All I Want for Christmas was not approved, so I wanted to share a small segment of the video, completed the way i had intended it. Cue it up to 2:41 to see yours truly having a holly Jolly Christmas, shake, rattle and rolling to the breakdown.
(Top video Has the My Chemical Romance segment, bottom video is what was played at the party)
It came out so good! I liked how the music was different and not from Mariah Carey. Great job, Nathan! Can’t wait to see more videos you create.
